Joey, Chander, Who's Next?

Who is the dribbling idiot that keeps rehashing the same old stars on new shows? First it was the Joey spin-off, then a failed show with Lisa Kudrow and now Matthew Perry is back on TV in a new fall show. Please just let the "Friends" be. I don't mind seeing them in movies but it's asking a lot to have another show after such a big hit. Same goes for anyone from Seinfeld, Everybody Love Raymond or Cheers... and John Lithgow (who has been on more shows than I care to recall) and Calista Flockhart (who should never have been on TV in the first place). You had your time. Now let it go and pass the fame torch to the next. You can't tell me there isn't ANY other talent out there to try.

Actually the new show on NBC with Perry, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, is a product from Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Sportsnight). It has promise to be a pretty decent show and has a solid cast including Amande Peet, D.L. Hughley, Timothy Busfield, Bradley Whitford and Steven Weber.

Just because Perry is in it, don't sell this one short. He's the only guy out of the group I have any hope for in terms of a future.

Perry just debuted on a TNT movie special a few weeks ago called The Ron Clark Story. While it's been done before, it was a really well done movie and Perry was very good in it. I recommend checking it out the next time it is on.

I think that's a pretty wasted comment. To say an actor should never be in a TV show again just because they were in successful in another one is like saying that a writer or a producer should never do another show because "they had their time." And by the way Frasier ended up being more successful than it's spinoff Cheers, so don't tell me actors shouldn't be on TV after a hit show
