Underwhelming.  Actually, it's Alice In Chains (main stage, August 5).  Which is just... odd.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Alice In Chains.  Or, rather, I loved them.  You know, when Layne Staley was, like, alive.  It's cool that Jerry Cantrell and the gang are getting together to play some shows, and cooler that they're doing it at Musikfest, but has their time of relevance passed?

Sure, "Get Born Again" was a good post-Staley tune, but I have to wonder what the rest of the music will be like without the deceased singer.  Props to the Fest folk for at least trying, and I'll definitely want to catch the show.  But like I said...  does anyone really care?

So, it's been a while since we've really heard any news on the Fest.  We're kind of in that lull where it's just some event off in the distance, but if you think about it we're getting pretty pretty close - less than three months.  What we're all wondering is who the big first night act will be.  There still hasn't been any announcement, and we haven't gotten any more clues.

If you're wondering what's going on, don't worry - you're not alone, we're wondering too.  Of course, as soon as we know anything new, we'll make sure you hear it.
